Mostly a good read

There are some situations that are very unlikely but on the whole it was a good read. This story is not as well edited as the first and has some passages that don't make sense, at least one word that is incorrectly used ( picaresque instead of picturesque) but even so, this author writes better than many so called JA fans do, you wonder if some have jumped on the bandwagon after watching a film rather than reading the book. Monica here has done something well that Jane herself would never have done, she writes from Darcy's perspective and tries to keep true to character. I will read more of her books but will likely still "edit" as I go along.

Thoroughly recommended

I loved reading Pledge, Monica really knows and loves the subject. I didn't know initially (or hadn't realised) that it was part 1 and was stunned when I found part 2 hadn't been finished. I waited for part 2 and in the meantime read others and re-read Pledge a couple more times, I find there's always something new in re-reads. Challenge finished it beautifully whilst still leaving a little teaser of an opening to part 3. Hope I'm right!!! Thoroughly recommended

Brilliant!

I love reading p&p variations but this book and its prequel are by far the best I have read. The plot, storyline and style are just what an Austin fan wants. Romantic without being too sappy. It will no doubt be a book I read again.
